Jack recovering in ICU

Thursday, 7:30am

Jack had a relatively restful night and is still in the Critical Care Unit.  Overnight he started breathing on his own again, which is really positive.  The doctors are hopeful that Jack can come back up to his room on 5C  today.  Jack now needs to recover to a point that doctors can proceed with testing the language function in his brain.  We are hopeful that this will happen today or tomorrow.  Once they are able to get this information, we are really hopeful that they will be able to present us with a surgical plan to remove the part of Jack’s brain that is causing the seizures.  The next surgery may be next Monday.

Please continue to pray for Jack, our family, and his medical team.  Specifically, please pray that Jack’s little body continues to be strong throughout this journey.   His strength continues to amaze us.

Jodi

    Hi Jodi and Dave –
You don’t know me, but my husband Dave works at AON in Toronto. My women’s bible study at Compass Point Church has been praying for Jack for 2 weeks, and I have been personally praying for him every day. We have 3 boys, and our youngest just turned 6, so in my mind I have been imagining everything that has been happening to Jack happening to my own son. I have cried most days in prayer for you, and cannot fathom your strength, nor that of your amazing son. Several nights ago, I could hardly sleep, and was awakened early in the morning. I prayed for you all for nearly an hour, and I found out later that it was a very critical time for everyone. I tell you this so you have confidence, hope and encouragement that our great God is directly communicating with lots of people about you and Jack, and I know He is standing there with you. I have had a mental picture in my mind based on one of the prayers said for you last Tuesday morning at our study, that Jesus Christ himself is standing between Jack and the pain, between Jack and infection, between Jack and harm, taking the worst of it upon Himself and only letting what Jack can handle pass through. I continue to pray throughout each day for you, you are doing unbelievably.
